Have you ever wondered if you should pray more?

What resources are there to help you pray?

Are Daily Offices for everyone to use?

How can I deepen my intercessions?

Lectio Divina :: A Way to Pray Holy Readings

Lectio Divina is a contemplative way to pray the scriptures and works well with the weekly lectionary or holy readings. Use lectionary for the following Sunday several times.

Lectio read scripture or other reading slowly. Read it 3 times: first time what word or phrase grabs your attention. For the second and third readings consider using other versions. Biblehub is a good electronic source [www.biblehub.com or use their app for a fee] Hold off on how and why questions for now.

Meditatio enters the text more deeply from your own knowledge. What is said and not said? Where is Jesus or God acting in the passage? Fill in your knowledge with other sources. Rewrite the passage in your own words.

Oratio focus your ideas. What is the good news? What gets in the way? What is the invitation to transformation? Organize your thoughts.

Contemplatio let go of your own thoughts and listen for God to speak to you.
